Thriller books for beginners

It is no secret to any of my friends, family or even followers on bookstagram that I am very new to the thriller genre. I always assumed I really wouldn’t like them and that they are all terrifying. That is until I read my very first one with the TalkWordyToUs book club (an amazing one, FYI) and I loved it! Here I’m am going to discuss a few thriller books I have read as a thriller newbie that I ended up really enjoying! The Guest List - Lucy Foley This is the book that got me into thrillers. That’s it that’s the review. Go buy it. On a more serious note, The Guest List is set on a remote Scottish Island playing host to a wedding. We already know someone has died, but we don’t know who, or why. The story follows multiple points of view, which I really loved. We follow each of the wedding guests as we are kept on our toes making guesses as to what has happened, who has been killed, and just who the murderer is. It is the perfect thriller to get into the genre. Not at all creepy, the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns and engaging storytelling. You’ll find yourself able to guess alongside the characters just as to what is going to happen. I would highly recommend The Guest List, and if you do love it, check out Lucy Foleys other books! Rock Paper Scissors - Alice Feeney A slightly creepier thriller which definitely gave me chills at some points, yet it never put me off the book. Rock Paper Scissors follows Adam and Amelia, a couple who are struggling in their own marriage. Nearing another anniversary they take a trip to secluded Scotland in a last-ditch attempt to save their marriage. Rock Paper Scissors had me gripped, I couldn’t put it down! Addictive and creepy, I constantly had my mind blown by what was happening. It was the perfect setting for a thriller to keep you gripped. A secluded, snowy Scotland, with an abandoned chapel. What is creepier than that? This is a book I will always recommend, and the plot twist completely threw me! The Holiday - T. M. Logan I read The Holiday in two sittings because it hooked me from the first page! Four women who have been friends for years go on holiday with their partners. What should have been a simple catch up turns into something much, much more sinister. How well do you know your friends, and more importantly, who you are on holiday with? Kate believes her husband is cheating. Not just cheating, but cheating with one of her friends, one she is currently on holiday with. She is constantly questioning people and does her best to discover the truth and find out what is happening. After reading The Holiday, T. M. Logan is an author I will always buy, and always recommend. The way Logan writes reels you in from the very start and it is almost impossible to put the book down. He has an excellent way to throw a curve ball after curve ball keeping you off balance. At one point or another I was questioning EVERYONE. It is an excellent thriller to slowly get you into the genre; not at all creepy but it holds you enough that you can’t help yourself from reading on. These are just a few of the thrillers I have recently read and loved. I would highly recommend them all to anyone, whether you are new to the genre or just a thriller fiend. Nothing hooks me more than a thriller that keeps me constantly guessing and throwing a curve ball that you really don’t see coming. If you have any must read thrillers then I would love to know what they are. As this list does not end here, a few more thrillers I have loved are: The Sanatorium - Sarah Pearse The Catch - T. M. Logan The Therapist - B. A. Paris All Her Fault - Andrea Mara A Parent Apart - Gary Wright Sarah @readersramblings

Some great thrillers there. Most of which I've read 🤣 these ones are quite tame to some I've read. Loved them all though
